    Default job background
    Description
    Homeless Children's Network

    Director Recovery and Care

Full-time position. Health, Dental, and Vision insurance; Homeless Children's Network Mission

The mission of Homeless Children's Network is to decrease the trauma of homelessness and domestic violence for children, youth, and families; and to increase the effectiveness of collaborative efforts among service providers to end homelessness and poverty.

Homeless Children's Network is a community-based organization providing mental health and family support services to children and families who are homeless and formerly homeless.

The Director of Recovery and Care spearheads initiatives aimed at empowering the African American community in San Francisco.

Their role encompasses program development and management, focusing on three key areas:
the Black Birthing Health Program, Black LGBTQ+ Initiative, and Fentanyl Awareness Project.

These programs mark new endeavors for the Homeless Children's Network, requiring the Director to facilitate access to resources and support.

This includes offering direct access to funding, fostering leadership development, and facilitating collaboration to ensure the achievement of programmatic goals and desired outcomes.

Reporting to the Senior Director, the Director of Recovery and Care assumes a full-time position (9 am - 6 pm, 40 hours/week) heavily grounded in community engagement.

This role necessitates a hybrid workplace model, with three days spent at the Fillmore and Bayview offices and the remaining two days conducted remotely or in the field.

Occasional evening and weekend commitments may arise, though infrequently.

The Director of Recovery and Care holds direct responsibility for the comprehensive implementation of three key initiatives:

A vital community wellness program tailored to address the unique needs of Black/African American birthing individuals and their families in San Francisco.

Aimed at advancing and enhancing safety, mental health, and overall well-being among Black/POC/marginalized transgender, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming youth, families, elders, and individuals.

    The Fentanyl Awareness Project:
The Director will oversee the development and management of program goals and operations across these initiatives.

This includes direct supervision of program managers and leads, coordination with staff teams, contractors, grantee community partners, as well as handling communications, marketing, and liaising with the Department of Public Health, Human Rights Commision and other community stakeholders.

This leadership role is pivotal to our mission, offering the organization expert guidance in clinical development, evidence-based program design, and ensuring accountability for high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include staff development, training, and supervision, as well as program evaluation and continuous improvement.

Five years of progressively responsible non-profit program management experience and staff supervision.

    Implementation of each new program
Staffing and managing staff to outcomes/deliverables
Clinical Supervision of two PsyD, MFT, or MSW pre-licensed staff
    Ability to work flexible hours
Demonstrated ability to work with representatives of government agencies, community-based organizations and the business community.

Knowledge about diverse cultures and ability to provide competency in working with youth and communities of racial, cultural, ethnic and sexual differences.

Knowledge of computer software, particularly MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of and familiarity with social service resources available for youth in San Francisco.

Has a passion for developing and sustaining quality services for youth and families, and a desire to learn and understand needs of HCN's constituents, staff, and partners.
