    Job Title: Assistant Director of Emergency Housing at HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA)

    The HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA) is a unique program in the country, dedicated to assisting New Yorkers living with HIV or AIDS to lead healthier and more independent lives. HASA offers personalized service plans that address a client's specific medical needs, providing support to enhance their well-being.

    • Intensive case management
    • Rental assistance and housing options
    • Support with applying for public benefits like Medicaid, food stamps, and cash assistance
    • Vocational services to prepare clients for work
    • Home care, mental health, and substance abuse services
    • Transportation assistance
    • Referrals to community-based organizations
    • Assistance with SSI or SSD applications

    The role of the Assistant Director, Emergency Housing at HASA involves overseeing the SRO Inspection Unit under the Housing and Support Services unit, ensuring quality housing standards.

    • Monitor housing quality standards and address deficiencies promptly
    • Facilitate meetings to review vendor performance
    • Conduct regular quality assurance reviews
    • Participate in facility inspections
    • Monitor occupancy rates and transition processes
    • Initiate special projects for timely reporting and client support

    Minimum Qualifications:

    A master's degree or a bachelor's degree with relevant experience

    Preferred Skills:

    • Strong management and leadership abilities
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Project management expertise
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
    • Familiarity with Housing Preservation & Development (HPD) and NYC Department of Building (DOB) websites

    Additional Information:

    This position is open to qualified individuals eligible for the 55-a Program for persons with disabilities. Prospective employees may be eligible for federal loan forgiveness and state repayment assistance programs. New York City residency is typically required within 90 days of appointment.
