    Job Summary

    BASIC SUMMARY:
    Lead the purchasing team in executing material management tasks to efficiently acquire materials, equipment, and services on a national scale.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversee purchasing operations, including sourcing and coordinating supplies and equipment for specific company sites.
    • Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders and supplier partners to streamline vendor sources and optimize value.
    • Supervise bid preparation and conduct negotiations with suppliers on pricing, delivery, and specifications matters.
    • Manage purchasing and material control procedures for designated locations to support company financial reporting needs.
    • Coordinate purchases based on materials/equipment requirements for inventory control or warehouse operations.
    • Assess and authorize purchase orders based on vendor performance and compliance with company standards.
    • Coordinate document routing and contracts through the legal department for review.
    • Effectively manage procurement-related documents and processes, adhering to established protocols and financial controls.
    • Oversee purchasing programs and vendors to ensure quality and compliance with regulations.
    • Act as a project coordinator for special initiatives and collaborate with various departments in equipment development and material specifications.
    • Implement supplier quality assurance initiatives as directed.
    • Supervise the activities of assigned group(s) to ensure optimal performance.
    • Conduct interviews and make hiring decisions for departmental staff.

    Continued Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Approve overtime as necessary, review and approve time cards, and coordinate vacation scheduling.
    • Support the establishment of operating objectives, organizational structure, and staffing needs.
    • Contribute to the development of departmental budgets and authorize expenditures in line with budgetary constraints.
    • Enhance group performance by implementing strategies for increased productivity, cost reduction, and best practices.
    • Develop and maintain departmental systems and standard operating procedures.
    • Promote equal employment opportunities and affirmative action practices in all personnel actions.
    • Execute all other pertinent duties as assigned.

    Job Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in business management or related field.
    • Experience: Six or more years of relevant experience.
    • Strong leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of GMP.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and GMP regulations.
    • Experience in a GxP environment and SAP proficiency.

    Compensation Data

    The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $130,000 per year, with variations based on experience, skills, certifications, and location considerations.
