    Human Resources Assistant (Payroll and Onboarding)

    Boston, MA (Hybrid schedule: 3 days a week in the office)

    We are currently seeking a Human Resources Assistant with experience in payroll processing and employee onboarding to join our team in Boston. This is a hybrid role that offers the flexibility to work remotely part of the time while collaborating with our team in the office.

    Position Overview: As a Human Resources Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our HR team in payroll processing and onboarding of new employees. This position will be responsible for managing payroll functions, processing employee data, and assisting with the onboarding process to ensure a smooth and positive experience for new hires. The ideal candidate will have experience in both payroll and onboarding and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Payroll Processing: Assist with processing payroll for employees, including data entry, payroll calculations, and verifying timecards or timesheets.
    2. Employee Onboarding: Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing new hire paperwork, conducting orientation sessions, and ensuring completion of required forms and documents.
    3. Data Management: Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS system, including payroll information, personal data, and benefits enrollment.
    4. Benefits Administration: Assist with benefits administration tasks, such as enrolling new employees in benefits programs, processing changes or updates, and answering benefits-related inquiries.
    5. Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including tax withholding, wage and hour laws, and employment eligibility verification.
    6. Employee Relations: Provide support to employees regarding payroll inquiries, timekeeping issues, and other HR-related matters. Escalate complex issues to HR management as needed.
    7. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain HR documents, reports, and files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of sensitive information.
    8. HR Support: Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including scheduling meetings, drafting correspondence, and assisting with special projects as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 1 years of experience in payroll processing and employee onboarding.
    • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and tax requirements.
    • Experience with HRIS systems and payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex).
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
    • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Must be able to work in the office in Boston, MA, 3 days a week.
