Summary:
Lead engineering projects from requirement definition through budgeting, scheduling, design and build by coordinating internal and external engineering resources.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS to PERFORM DUTIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Establish and Maintain Effective Scope Management Processes:
Develop and implement robust processes for managing project scope throughout its lifecycle.
Ensure clear communication and understanding of project scope among all stakeholders.
Build and Foster Relationships with External Resources:
Cultivate strong relationships with customers, vendors, and engineering contractors.
Collaborate effectively to maximize and achieve project objectives.
Dynamic Project Analysis and Adjustment:
Conduct regular analysis of project status, proactively identifying areas for improvement.
Revise project scope and schedule as needed, keeping stakeholders informed and engaged.
Resource Allocation for Mechanical and Electrical Design:
Assign engineering resources efficiently, balancing mechanical and electrical design requirements.
Optimize team productivity by aligning resources with project needs.
Performance Reporting and Communication:
Provide concise and regular updates on schedule and gross margin performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, addressing concerns and ensuring transparency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with various Cintas partners, spanning sales, production, and engineering teams.
Foster a cohesive working environment to drive successful project outcomes.
Labor Loading and Forecasting Support:
Assist in labor loading activities, contributing to accurate project resource forecasting.
Play a key role in ensuring optimal workforce allocation for project success.
Technical Documentation Oversight:
Ensure comprehensive technical documentation is prepared and easily accessible for all products.
Facilitate seamless handovers and transitions between project phases.
Close Collaboration with Manufacturing Team:
Work closely with the manufacturing team during build and testing phases.
Address any engineering-related challenges promptly to maintain project timelines.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Education and Experience:
Associate degree in engineering and 2 years of project management experience. Experience with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD is preferred. Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office products.
Language Skills:
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with other employees, departments, customers, and management, and be able to present information to groups of employees, customers, vendors etc.
Mathematical Skills:
Must be able to perform advanced level mathematics reasoning (algebraic formulas and trigonometry for example).
Reasoning Ability:
Be able to identify work process problems and possible solutions.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
Maintain membership in appropriate professional organizations /associations.
Physical Demands:
Sit at workstation for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to adjust visual focus. May be required to reach, stoop and/or bend on an as needed basis.
Work Environment:
Traditional office and factory atmosphere.
Travel:
Must be able to periodically travel to customers facility for project reviews, installations, machine commissioning and warranty work as dictated by project.
