Description
Job DescriptionOur client, a leading distribution company, is currently seeking an ambitious Distribution Manager to help lead their team. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated candidate with a go-getter attitude and a drive to succeed.Responsibilities include:
1) Manage a group of 20-25 delivery drivers, including delivery schedule and hours worked2) Complete daily routing for all Pepsi delivery routes, manage hot shots, and off-day deliveries3) Manage within the established labor budget4) Respond to all calls, and texts immediately from Route Supervisors related to deliveries, accidents and issues with vehicles and communicate the course of action if needed5) Communicate effectively to all management in a timely manner6) Answer field customer calls regarding deliveries and ensure customer service7) Establish and maintain positive customer relationships, resolving customer issues related to delivery8) Ensure store delivery time windows are met daily9) Work proactively with the Bulk Sales Manager, Territory Sales Manager and Warehouse Operations10) Train, coach, lead and develop drivers to support the sales organization and improve daily productivity11) Maintain and improve existing processes to further enhance productivity12) Manage and oversee all equipment involved with delivery13) Coordinate preventative maintenance on the fleet with fast fleet services14) Complete all purchase orders for equipment and log and monitor all repairs15) Ensure compliance with the Department of Transportation16) Conduct team meetings and safety training to ensure that preventive measures are enforced17) Serve as liaison between distribution and sales18) Comply with operating procedures19) Use the hand-held device to input and write orders20) Assists in the recruitment of new employees, interviewing, and hiring of Route Drivers21) Enforce disciplinary measures and reprimands22) Ensure compliance with FMSCA and DOT23) Review and publish the safety measure system rating overview report on a monthly basis24) Work proactively with the Human Resources Team to ensure that all driver paperwork submitted for DOT driver files25) Conduct investigations for any safety incidents or accidents and submit reports26) Follow all safety operations, and company vehicle and equipment policies27) Perform other duties as assignedCritical Requirements1) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)2) Recent experience in the distribution industry is strongly preferred3) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in distribution managementIf you are qualified and possess superb communication skills and have the proven ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment, then this could be a great opportunity for you.
