The
Information Technology (IT) Fellow is a full-time, one-year program designed to provide real-life experience in healthcare IT as part of Digital Technology Services (DTS) at Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH).

Works on a variety of projects and initiatives, gaining exposure to different aspects of the HMH network/organization.

The goal of the program is to develop skills and provide the experiences necessary to launch a career in healthcare IT.

Rotates through three areas of DTS, spending approximately four months being guided and educated in each. Works with the program administrator to select areas of interest. Gains an in-depth understanding of each service line, department, and/or specialty area they are placed in.

Will work closely with leadership on projects resulting in a positive impact on the quality of delivery by the service line, department, and/or specialty area.

Areas of interest include but are not limited to:

Clinical Informatics, Cloud and Core Infrastructure, Data and Analytics, Digital Engagement, Health Applications, and the Office of the Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO).

During the program, will receive guided professional development through monthly education courses. Courses address learning in leadership, administrative skills, healthcare industry knowledge, and general professional development.

Will be guided and mentored throughout the program by multiple people, including senior leaders, the program manager, and an external coach.
