As a
Program Manager, Data Fellowship you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our Data Fellowship Program.

You will be expected to own all aspects of fellow management, professional development, partner with HR in recruitment efforts, and steer our Fellowship interview process.

Your work will directly lead to improving the lives of people in communities in Delaware and beyond.

This role reports to Tech Impact Data Innovation Lab's Director of Research Development & Analytics and works closely with The Lab's Data Science, Data Engineering and Front-End Development Leads.


Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daytoday management of Data Fellows
  • Professionally develop Fellows and Senior Fellows as it relates to their role specific training goals.
  • Steer both our Data Fellowship recruitment and interview processes
  • This position is primarily located in Newark, Delaware, with travel to Philadelphia and other local or regional travel as needed to support recruitment of Fellows.
  • Familiar with our project & personnel management tools to ensure we meet our target outcomes and track/report Fellow data appropriately.
  • Ensure Fellows develop their technical skills, are engaged with cohort members and that they are delivering quality projects, following processes and procedures, and achieving program outcomes.
  • Alongside the Director of RD&A, work with individual Fellows to identify their innovation project and draft project goal and schedules.
  • Responsible for responding to escalation of related issues requiring management direction.
  • Work closely with team leads to create alignment and sustain collaboration in project requiring crossfunctional involvement.
  • Along with the Director of RD&A, cultivate strong partnerships in the region through positive relationships with employers, volunteers, community partners, local Department of Labor and Workforce Investment Boards, collaboratives, and other postsecondary training providers, to drive awareness and build enrollment and job placement pipelines.
  • Identify areas for program growth and improvement.
  • Prepare reports, publications, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
  • Assist the Director of RD&A in the management client and stakeholder relationships and meetings.

Required / Preferred Skills

  • 2+ years of workforce development program delivery and/or management experience is required.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate teams is required. Must possess the ability to work with individual associates and the team to resolve issues if they arise.
  • 2+ years of nonprofit experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated sufficient technical acumen [NM1] as to be able to develop Fellows[KC2] on their technical skillsets.
  • Experienced with recruitment, hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Git and Github and project management tools is highly preferred.

  • Skillful communicator, effective project developer, and people manager, with proven ability to build and sustain partnerships.
  • Ability to quickly become familiar with our workforce development programs and associated (and often complex) corporate, foundation, and government grant policies and procedures.
  • Willing to directly perform operational and program delivery tasks when needed.
  • Ability to maintain relationships with employers, government officials, and community members.
  • A clear understanding of workforce development concepts; preferably also related technology concepts/experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Organized and detailoriented, energetic, and resultsoriented; able to work well independently and within a team environment.
