    Description

    Role:

    Harbour Capital Advisors is seeking an Associate Portfolio Manager to be an integral part of our company and investment management team. The Portfolio Manager is responsible for evaluating, designing, and overseeing all aspects of portfolio construction and dynamic, active management of client portfolios. The Portfolio Manager will assist our firm's other principals in providing investment management, wealth planning, and other family office services to our high-net-worth client base.

    Specific Responsibilities:

    • Manage investment portfolios designed to achieve clients' financial goals
    • Prepare and present client reports and presentations, as needed
    • Deliver clear presentations on the capital markets and their outlooks, the firm's investment process and strategy, and the performance of client portfolios
    • Adhere to all required compliance and regulatory requirements, as well as protect the assets and reputation of the firm
    • Build and maintain strong and positive working relationships with other associates; third-party managers, advisors, consultants, and service providers; and parties that serve as "centers of influence" within target client communities
    • Maintain a current awareness of new investment strategies and instruments through regular contact with investment research industry professionals and personal research
    • Participate in Investment Committee and internal meetings by sharing ideas, vetting opportunities and collaborating with colleagues
    • Keep abreast of current trends and best practices in the investment management industry, as well as developments in the economy and security markets
    • Utilize knowledge, along with fundamental and/or technical analysis, to arrive at sound and timely investment decisions
    • Proactively participate in efforts to strengthen existing relationships and to identify and close new business opportunities
    • Participate in initiatives and campaigns to better inform and service target clients with respect to family office services and/or private wealth management and advisory services
    • Respond promptly to new business referrals, investment-related inquiries, clients, prospective clients, salespeople, and marketers
    • Ensure the completion of processing and operational needs relative to the administration of assigned accounts
    • Maintain in-depth daily knowledge of the securities markets and individual securities, as well as portfolio management products, including the rationale for underlying holdings, sector, and asset allocation decisions
    • Ensure that professional designations and affiliations are maintained and current by fulfilling necessary continuing education and other requirements

      Skills, Requirements, and Preferences:
      • Minimum of three years' experience in investment analysis or management with preference for direct stock and individual bond portfolio management, including investment research analysis and/or portfolio management experience in the high-net-worth arena, with client development, retention, and expansion responsibilities
      • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in related field from a four-year college or university required MBA, CPA, and/or CFA/CIMA designation preferred
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Bloomberg
      • Advanced understanding of investment management concepts and terminology
      • Advanced ability to present complex data and information to clients
      • Strong detail orientation and organizational skills
      • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
      • Ability to work and lead in a team environment
