    Role Description

    The HR Coordinator will perform duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, and payroll functions. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organisation. The HR Coordinator must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill and business needs.

    Principle Accountabilities:

    • Act as a regional point of contact with dotted line reporting and is responsible for driving the implementation of the global HR Plan within the locality and ensuring compliance in line with the Global HR objectives.
    • Assist VP – HR with designing and delivering training programs on HR topics for management and staff employees as required.
    • Support with routine employee relations issues.
    • Investigate issues regarding working conditions, disciplinary actions, terminations and other employee complaints.
    • Conduct exit interviews, analyse data and make recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
    • Alert all necessary departments of salary changes, promotions and changes in status for staff employees.
    • Maintain the employee handbook with updated resolutions and other pertinent information.
    • Manage the new hire inductions.
    • Assist with employment verifications and state unemployment claims.
    • Process new hires, terminations, and changes in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Participate in special projects that enable the HR Department to contribute to the realisation of Company goals.
    • Assist with communication efforts regarding HR initiatives, activities, and goals and ensure a high level of customer service.
    • Assist VP - HR to coach, counsel and guide managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.
    • Assist employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
    • Assist central with HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance.
    • Perform the drug screen and background check process for all staff from start to finish, and support with contractor drug compliance portals as needed.
    • Complete annual EEOC reporting.
    • Various projects as assigned.

    Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

    • 3 + years of relevant HR experience.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Bachelor Degree preferred.
    • PHR or SPHR Certification obtained or working towards.
    • Effective communication skills, oral & written.
    • Effectively communicate with staff and contractors in potentially stressful situations.
    • Ability to consistently meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
    • Experience in Word, Excel, ADP and other applicable database programs helpful.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with a sense of confidentiality as well as urgency on all issues.

    Abilities:

    • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
    • Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc.
    • Ability to meet the highest attendance requirements.
    • Ability to work in a time sensitive environment with non flexible deadlines.
    • All candidates must have the ability to speak, read and write English.
