- Basic skills in oxy-acet. torch operation, heliarc skills and the ability to weld pressurized application
- Use calipers, weld gauges, tape measures and other welding hand tools
- Prepare welded assemblies for for cosmetic finishing using grinding and sanding
- Welds production in various metals using various types of welding processes in various positions anything from 20 gauge to 1/2 plate
- Welds must pass destructive and non-destructive testing based on certification requirements per individual product
- Setup fixtures and lay outs for productin and prototype piece parts
- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
- Responsible for the general maintenance of both machinery and plant area, including cleaning and maintenance of welding machines and all tools involved in daily production
- Performs all job assignments as instructed by the Group Lead, Assistant Plant Manager and/or Vice President, Operations
- Abides by all policies, procedures, and guidelines of the company including good common sense safety practices.
- 3-5 years full time welding experience or technical certificaton
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Flexible, ability to work in a fast pace constantly changing environment where extra hours may be needed to achieve tight deadlines
- Must be motivated individual in achieving excellence
- Employees are required to wear a welding shield or eye protection when not welding and steel toed shoes.
- Ear Protection is available and encouraged in all areas of the shop.
