    Welder - 2nd shiftTeam: Fabrication TeamPrimary Objective of Position:A Welder is responsible for setting up, fabricating and welding complex parts using various welding processes.

    A Welder works with a high degree of detail adhering to safety and quality standards.


    Major Areas of Accountability:
    Set up and fabricate a wide variety of components using various welding processes, primarily FCAW and GMAW. Use oxygen-acetylene, oxygen-natural gas, plasma arc and carbon-arc equipment to heat, straighten, trim and bevel ferrous and non-ferrous material.

    Read drawings and routings to determine method, sequence of operation, position, tolerances and welding specifications, to include proper filler materials, fluxes and weld machine settings.

    Make all necessary layouts and setups using proper tools and fabricating equipment. Uses portable electric or air driven grinding or chipping equipment. Perform self-inspection and documentation of welded components. Provide feedback on rejected welded components, and may determine disposition of rework for rejection report. Works in other areas of the Fabrication Team skills matrix, may work in other areas fabricating parts and brazing. Lift and move materials using forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane or jib crane. Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day to day work. Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations.


    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    1-2 year welding degree or High School degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant welding experience. Must pass a FCAW 3G and GMAW-SC 2G weld test. Knowledge of layouts, ability to read blueprints, perform basic math and calculate conversions. Ability to be certified in overhead and Jib crane operation and forklift operation.
