WELDER / FITTER
Location: Bloomington, CA 92316
Work schedule: 2nd shift

The ideal candidate will have a background in residential fittings and welds, from light fixtures to ductwork, and will be willing to work on-site as well as in-house to complete jobs for customers on time and budget.

Required Education and Experience

• 2+ years' experience operating as a commercial welder
• Knowledge of all welding and assembler operations in the work center
• Must pass and maintain in-house AWS Welder Certification
• Must have general knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Structural steel fabrication environment experience
• Bilingual Spanish preferred
• Current and valid certification is a plus

Essential Functions

• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
• Must read blueprints and perform shop math to layout, fabricate, and weld various parts and assemblies
• Must be able to weld all types of metals, set and maintain welding machine (tip, liner changes, etc.) and weld
• vertical, horizontal, and overhead
• Perform all MIG and TIG welding procedures (all positions), including machine settings and necessary fittings. Field install welds, including ductwork, light fixtures, vents, fans, metal sheeting and other parts
• Select proper fillers for jobs based on previous experience or project instructions
• Welding of mild steel and aluminum where required.
• Grind and clean area where required and ability to use grinder, sander, rivet guns, saws and other air tools
• Inspect welds for cracks, burn through and weld spatter
• Conserve resources whenever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction
• De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture
• Other duties and responsibilities as required
