Responsibilities:


  • Repair vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer & industry standards.
May specialize in specific repairs such as suspension, steel & aluminum welding.

  • Checks part to ensure accuracy for ordered and received parts.
  • Preps vehicles for body and/or repair and paint work.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.
  • Complies with all rules and regulations pertaining to safety and protection.
  • Work with other associates in cooperation to prepare and repair all customer vehicles as needed.
  • Attend all required training classes to learn and keep current of all job specific technical training with I-Car and other automotive sessions.
  • Knowledge of Frame & Uni-Body Measuring Systems
  • Diagnose and repair vehicles for any structural damage.
  • Disassemble vehicles as needed for proper repair planning with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Able to use specific tools as required such as sander, grinder, hydraulic lifts, frame equipment along with manual tools.
  • Perform welding as needed to repair the vehicle back to original manufacturers recommendations with welding equipment such as (MIG welder, Pro Spot resistance welder and torches).
  • Perform body straightening repairs as required to warranty the repairs
  • Remove and reinstall interiors
Maintain clean work area

  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
  • Test drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems
  • Communicate directly with the shop manager so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed.
Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs

  • Execute repairs once authorized

Requirements:

Auto Body Repair: 1 year minimumI-CAR certification is a plus, but is NOT required.

  • Ability to work a standing/sitting/bending 8 hour shift Monday to Friday
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast paced, high production environment.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality
  • Team player
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications, and able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Past GM, Ford, BMW, Toyota, Mopar, Mazda experience preferred but not require
