    Description

    Position Summary

    We are a discovery-stage biotechnology organization supported by leading life science investors using insights in RNA biology to uncover and develop new therapeutics for highly demanding medical conditions across various disease areas like oncology and neuromuscular disorders. We are fueled by our enthusiasm to transform innovative science into revolutionary treatments.

    In this role, you will collaborate with the Chief Scientific Officer and the company's management team to ensure the successful achievement of organizational goals and oversee various operational aspects crucial for our progress. This position demands a mix of analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in project management, biopharma operations, and effective communication.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Offer project management assistance to project teams: create project plans, define objectives, monitor deliverables and timelines, track progress and alignment within budget. Present project plan summaries, including Gantt charts, to communicate project status effectively.
    • Prepare the CSO for upcoming management meetings, both internal (e.g. Town Hall, Board of Director, LT meetings) and external discussions, and collaborate with the company's subject matter experts to prepare presentations.
    • Provide strategic guidance and coordination for calendar events, meetings, and travel for the leadership team. Coordinate and manage logistics for face-to-face meetings and teleconferences.
    • Ensure that commitments and deadlines are tracked, enabling the CSO to be well-prepared. Prepare documents and review materials created by others.
    • Arrange, organize, and lead project team and leadership team meetings: create and distribute agendas and meeting minutes; monitor action items and ensure timely execution, escalating risks to the appropriate management level.
    • Maintain project workspaces to keep relevant information organized and easily accessible by key stakeholders. Support competitive intelligence efforts.
    • Manage the IP portfolio tracker, oversee internal and external relationships related to licensing and IP prosecution.
    • Provide daily operational supervision to the Research functional areas and project teams.
    • Assist internal business partners in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating vendor contracts and agreements; monitor and manage existing vendor contracts, as well as budget tracking and invoice reconciliation.
    • Support the development of the company culture and coordinate company social events.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • An M.S. or Ph.D. degree in a scientific field linked to drug discovery and development with over 3 years of relevant experience.
    • Demonstrated success in project management with a background in life sciences, drug discovery, or related fields. Understanding of the drug discovery process is a plus.
    • Proven efficient time management skills with the capability to handle multiple complex tasks concurrently while meeting deadlines.
    • Demonstrated ability and interest in providing operational support to teams and company leadership; positive attitude with eagerness to tackle tasks of all sizes with equal enthusiasm.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills suitable for different audiences and stakeholders.
    • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to work effectively across functions.
    • Proficient with technology, possessing strong computer skills.
    • Ability to influence without direct managerial authority and inspire stakeholders to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
    • High emotional intelligence and situational awareness to comprehend team dynamics.
    • Aptitude to facilitate hybrid (local and remote) team meeting discussions.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Proficient/familiar with project management procedures and collaboration tools like Office 365, SmartSheet, and SharePoint.
    • Knowledge of laboratory operations and scientific equipment is beneficial.
    • Familiarity with legal and contractual matters is advantageous.
