THE POSITION:


Are you experienced in overseeing maintenance related tasks and would like to put that experience to great use? The State Correctional Institution at Dallas is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated person with the required experience to work as Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 1.

The purpose of this position is to work with corrections staff and incarcerated individuals to help in our mission to provide individualized education to offenders, resulting in successful community reintegration through accountability and positive change.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


As a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager for the Department of Corrections, you are responsible for providing supervisory oversight to facility maintenance and trades staff in the performance of routine and specialized maintenance, construction, and repair tasks for SCI Dallas.

Duties include planning, assigning, directing, and coordinating daily operations.

You determine staffing needs and priorities based on facility goals and objectives, and prepare and submit an annual department budget.

In addition, you provide supervisory oversight to facility maintenance and trades staff in the performance of routine and specialized maintenance, construction, and repair tasks.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Fulltime employment, 40hour work week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday
  • Friday, with 30minute lunch.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 5
    Salary:_ _In some cases, the starting salary may be nonnegotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • Two years of experience as a Building Maintenance Foreman (Facility Operations Supervisor), Utility Plant Supervisor, or Corrections Tradesman Instructor with a specialty in one of the trades of Carpentry, Electrical, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Sheet Metal, Machinist, Welding, Painting, Automotive, Electronics, or Masonry;
    or:
  • Six years of experience in the construction, maintenance or repair of buildings; or the operation, maintenance and repair of utility services equipment, including two years in a managerial or supervisory capacity;
    or:
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
