- Create, revise, and review all marketing copy across various channels (emails, direct mail, social media, etc.) to support established marketing and communications goals.
- Work closely with all departments to understand their content needs and develop project-specific marketing and communications copy.
- Manage the copy review process, including collecting and revising copy through multiple rounds of feedback until it is finalized by the project leads and marketing team.
- Proof content for grammar precision, content quality, and consistency.
- Ensure content complies with ASN's brand standards, style guides, and legal requirements.
- Write content to reflect the organization's voice and tone, ensuring the quality of content is appropriate and consistent for all audiences.
- Make sure content is SEO-friendly and optimized for the respective channel.
- Review and help update or improve the organization's content and style guide.
- Assist in drafting regular membership materials, including join/renewal marketing messages, new member welcome communications, brochures, and member offers.
- Work cross-departmentally to develop and execute marketing promotions for ASN activities and initiatives.
- Effectively manage multiple and shifting deadlines and priority changes within a fast-paced environment.
- Accept other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the position and area.
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, writing, marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience.
- Experience with the healthcare association industry is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of how to write content to engage target audiences and elicit action
- Excellent grammar and proofreading skills.
- Deep understanding of how to optimize copy for the web, social media, print, and other communications channels.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be comfortable communicating and interacting with senior leadership.
- Proficiency in using technology to organize and execute projects (particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as databases).

The American Society of Nephrology (ASN)—representing more than 21,000 physicians, researchers, nurses, and other health professionals dedicated to creating a world without kidney diseases—seeks a full-time Copywriter. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Copywriter will utilize their advanced copywriting and editing skills to support ASN's communications and marketing efforts across all channels and departments.
