The HFBP Integrator will support Johnson Space Center's Human Factors Behavioral Performance (HFBP) Element in managing research tasks under the Human Research Program (HRP) to address human health and performance risks for long-duration spaceflight.

Responsibilities include coordinating with NASA Portfolio Managers, managing project timelines and deliverables, facilitating communication among internal and external teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Ensure compliance with the Safety, Health and Environmental plan, the Quality Assurance Plan, and policies and procedures
  • Assist in completing tasks outlined in the HFBP Element Plan
  • Draft quarterly inputs from the principal investigators for accomplishments, images and publications.
  • Working closely with Element leadership team to incorporate schedule, budget, and risk inputs, and formatting the presentation using the template supplied by the Human Research Program (HRP).
  • Develop TSCR template for new projects, and updating milestones based upon status telecons
  • Develop and maintain tracking tool to track all proposed milestones from active projects by working closely with the PSMs to incorporate information in the quarterly TCSR, confirming all milestones of internal tasks are included as deliverables on the statement of work, ensuring milestones are included in the project proposals, and ensuring project dependencies, such as analog start and stop dates, are tied to project tasks and milestone tracking reflect slips in the analog and flight schedules.
  • Coordinate quarterly HRRCMS updates with Element leadership team, Discipline Scientist, and Science Coordinator.
  • Annually, ensure all proposals and augmentations are documented in designated element repository.
  • Develop kickoff packages for new grants.
  • Assist in the drafting of principal investigator institutional transfer packages.
  • Maintain and organize project folders in designated Element repository (Sharepoint, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
  • Support scientific review panel activities including SRP recommendations for panelists, SRP Element availability list, and manage associated records
  • Manage daytoday tasks to monitor progress and ensure HFBP and HRP timelines are met, and final products are incorporated into Element documentation.
  • Coordinate with Research Operations and Integration (ROI) and Flight Analogs Project (FAP) the Element teams needs for flight and flight analog studies
  • Assist as needed, to coordinate the evaluation of research within the HFBP discipline to determine the direction of future research including identifying operational needs for research from spaceflight operations experts.
  • Assist with tasks, as required, to transition to operations the Element team's completed research deliverables
  • Coordinate and lead (as required), weekly and other routine meetings to ensure key information, dates, deadlines and actions are exchanged and monitored.
  • Assist the Element teams efforts to manage, integrate/consolidate scientist and manager inputs, and complete critical deadlines to accomplish program requirements
  • Support implementation of System Engineering practices within the HFBP Portfolio
  • Complete other assigned tasks

  • Bachelor's degree with 10 years' experience, Master's degree with 5 years' experience, or a doctorate in relevant field

  • Prior experience in research or research management positions.
  • Prior experience with NASA, Aerospace, Military or similar organizations.
  • Prior experience working within a technical (science or engineering) organization

  • Demonstrated writing ability to complete all levels of writing, from executive summaries, briefings, technical reports, program or project plans.
