- Perform and supervise various manual, semi-automated, and automated assays with precision and efficiency.
- Recognize and handle normal, abnormal, and critical results swiftly and appropriately.
- Maintain adequate supply levels for the laboratory section.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and visitors.
- Collect specimens from designated patients.
- Adhere to established hospital and departmental policies.
- Participate in Continuing Education sessions and the Quality Assurance program.
- Orient and train new employees, review implemented changes, and evaluate new procedures.
- Manage quality control data, calibration, and maintenance procedures.
- Contribute to staff performance appraisals and assist in the accreditation process.
- Promote safety practices and maintain a secure work environment.
- Integrate department services and ensure compliance with accreditation requirements.
- Establish and maintain performance improvement activities.
- Provide staff orientation, training, and continuing education.
- Monitor resource utilization and ensure timely results.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to take on new tasks.
- Maintain an English-speaking work environment.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
- Graduate from an accredited Clinical Lab Scientist program.
- 4 years of experience in an Acute Care Facility with supervisory experience.
- Prior experience in Blood Bank CLS roles.
- Clinical Laboratory Specialist in Microbiology preferred.
- Valid Clinical Lab Scientist license in California.
- Fire Life Safety Training required (LA City).
