    Accord is in search of a Community Support Housing Specialist to assist individuals with mental health or developmental disabilities in the community to help them achieve their personal objectives and find stable housing assistance.     Competitive Compensation Based on Experience and Education

    Responsibilities:

    • Supporting adults with developmental or other disabilities, including mental illness and/or chemical dependency issues
    • Guiding and motivating individuals to set personal goals and develop essential life skills
    • Advocating for individuals to live, work, and engage in their communities
    • Meeting individuals both at their homes and in the community
    • Assisting individuals in accessing resources such as housing support and social security benefits
    • Assisting individuals in achieving personal goals leading to a high quality of life
    • Communicating respectfully with team members, persons served, and stakeholders
    • Providing transportation and traveling throughout the Twin Cities Metropolitan area
    • Promoting optimal health and well-being while handling challenging situations
    • Accurately documenting services provided in an electronic system

    Requirements:

    • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field
    • Preferred Experience: One year working with individuals with developmental, mental health, or other disabilities
    • Other Requirements:
      • Familiarity with housing and community resources for individuals facing homelessness
      • Strong problem-solving, judgment, and planning abilities
      • Interpersonal skills to engage positively with individuals with disabilities and team members
      • A valid driver's license and clean record
      • Successful completion of a Department of Human Services background check
