- Provide assistance in identifying and linking to community-based services and supports (mental health and or substance abuse treatment, housing, financial benefits, childrens developmental services, etc.)
- Advocate for clients, coordinate and refer for services with other community agencies.
- Maintain working relationships with community and government agencies, other professionals, family members of clients and significant others.
- Complete all documentation in timely manner.
- Meet agency productivity standards.
- Participate in staff meetings, individual supervision and assigned committees, as required.
- Participate in continuing education on an annual basis.
- Provide consultation/education services to other organizations as appropriate.
- State Certified Peer Specialist certification is preferred or the ability to acquire that certification within one year of date of hire.
- High school diploma or two years paid or volunteer work experience with individuals with mental health and/or substance use issues.
- Pass a criminal history background check.
- Current Washington State Drivers License, proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state and proof of insurance for the transportation of clients.
- Basic computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- A consumer of mental health, substance abuse, or developmental services (e.g. occupational therapy, disability services in a school) and 2 years of recovery
- Strong working knowledge of King County Systems and resources.
- Demonstrated ability to develop positive, supportive working relationships with clients while maintaining professional boundaries.

Country Doctor Community Health Centers (CDCHC) is a not for profit organization that operates two primary care clinics, an after-hours clinic, school-based health centers, and a dental clinic.
The Carolyn Downs Family Medical Center was founded by the Seattle Black Panther Party 50 years ago in Seattles Central District.
The Country Doctor Community Clinic was established in 1971 by the residents of the Capitol Hill community to provide affordable and comprehensive primary health care services.
Our founding principles of social justice live on today.We care for patients from around the region and the world, of all ages, gender identities, and abilities, including people with and without health insurance.
Our staff work with a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated and dynamic individuals who share our commitment to health equity.Position Summary
The Parental Peer Support Specialist (PSS) will serve as a clinical member of a multidisciplinary team within an integrated primary care medical/behavioral health setting.
Peers who work alongside professional staff provide living proof that recovery is possible.The PSS will provide patient-centered, trauma-informed, strength-based services, while maximizing the clients self-determination and decision-making skills, serving as a living example of hope for others living with medical, mental health and/or substance use issues.
The PSS will work with clients who are parents and their children. The Parental Peer Support Specialist will report to the Behavioral Health Specialist Supervisor.RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for assisting primary care provider (PCP) and behavioral health consultant (BHC) in assessment, development and implementing individual treatment plans for clients, including;
* co-supervision of clients,
* advocacy in treatment and support,
* individual and/or group treatment with staff supervision,
* socialization and recreational experiences,
* commitment to cultural competence
* crisis intervention and stabilization
* develop supportive relationships that help to promote hope, choice, wellness and recovery
* assist client in developing self-sufficiency and self-advocacy.
* demonstrate respect for patient rights and maintains privacy.
QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE:
with lived-experience, according to the King County Standards for Peer Support Services.
ABILITIES:
SALARY:
$21.00$29.57per hour; payable semi-monthly; this is an hourly, non-exempt 15 hours a weekend ,part-time position.
