- Plans and directs development, implementation, and continuing evaluation of the effectiveness of program management frameworks that governs the planning and execution of the Departments visa applicant watch listing and other programs and operations.
- Exercises delegated managerial authority and responsibility for the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of all SAC functions, which are carried out on a day-to-day basis by the three subordinate divisions.
- Serves as an authority on U.S. policy and provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act governing foreign nationals who are determined to be ineligible for visas on political and security-related grounds.
- Represents the Department at meetings with relevant stakeholders to promote understanding for Department policies and programs related to visa security screening.
- Monitors critical global issues and developments having a potential impact on U.S. foreign policy related to visa security screening and determines appropriate strategies and initiatives in response.

- Experience applying knowledge of administrative laws, policies, regulations, and precedents to assess programs;
