    SAAF Mission

    The San Antonio AIDS Foundation seeks to reduce HIV transmission, provide support and treatment for those living with HIV, reduce stigma and support positive sexual health. SAAF provides sexual health education, STI and HIV testing and counseling, medical care, case management, housing and meal support, mental health services and referrals for dental health. Access to care and early intervention have a significant impact on the health and well-being of people living with HIV.

    Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

    Position

    The Director of Client Services manages and supervises all aspects of client services to include case management (medical and non-medical, including intake, ADAP and 340B Program), oral health referrals, medical transportation, housing program (including the transitional house). Responsible for overall client satisfaction and program integrity.

    This position demands a high level of cultural competency of the unique needs of the LGBTQIA++ community, communities of color, and other marginalized populations.

    Duties and responsibilities
    • Transforms the quality of service to the client through innovative change management ideals and inspiring communication. Responsible for assessing and advising upper management on Client Services issues, including both emergent and systemic. Continually assesses the Client Services department and develops/implements/assigns processes, procedures, and projects accordingly.
    • Oversee program compliance with established standards of care of private and government funder requirements
    • Performs sample audits of Client Service programs to ensure compliance and reports results to the Quality Management Officer
    • Develop and implement strategies that will maximize collaboration among program areas
    • Development of operating, data collection and evaluation systems in consultation with the Quality Assurance Manager for current programs and of newly funded client services as they become available.
    • Manage required reporting for Chief Executive Officer to Ryan White administrative agency, City, County, State and applicable private funders.
    • Oversight and input of service/client data in ARIES, Client Track and HMIS systems.
    • Assist in developing the agency Quality Management Plan and implement service and programmatic quality improvement activities.
    • Provide supervision of Client Service Coordinators, Medical and Non-Medical Case Mangers, Eligibility Coordinators.
    • Serve as community liaison maintaining positive working relationships with other service providers and community organizations.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Requirements

    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Counseling or Social Work
    • At least 5 years in providing support services in a social service agency
    • Prior management or leadership experience is highly preferred
    • Current license by the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), Licensed Bachelor of Social Work (LBCW) or Licensed Masters of Social Work (LMSW)
    • Experience with Ryan White case management and HIV/AIDS
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work
    Continuing Education
    • Maintain Ryan White continuing education/training requirements and any other requirements for licensing board.
    Working conditions

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The position may also require working with challenging clients and defusing client affairs as needed.

    Physical requirements

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

    SAAF works daily with clients who may be immunocompromised. While evidence of COVID-19 vaccination is not required, employee may be asked to wear a mask while in the office.
