The NYC Homeless Healthcare Fellowship

This one-year training program supports licensed physicians in FM, IM, or EM who join NYC homeless healthcare organizations as fellows. We are looking for passionate individuals to provide high-quality healthcare for those experiencing homelessness. The program, launched in 2020, trains physicians to work with health care and social service organizations to empower patients facing homelessness in various aspects of their health.

Key Components of the Fellowship:

Clinical Work: Fellows will work alongside experienced healthcare providers delivering care at shelters, mobile units, or on the streets.
Education: Participation in lectures, seminars, & workshops focused on Medical Care, Health Systems & Social Services, & Physician Resiliency.
Mentorship & Clinical Supervision: Regular sessions with experienced providers to review cases and strategies.
Experiential Learning: Opportunities related to psychiatry, addiction & virology.
Scholarly Work: Fellows will work on a scholarly activity presented as a final product.

Throughout the year, fellows will provide clinical care, receive training in various health aspects, rotate with the NYC Department of Homeless Services, and work with community partners.

Compensation and Benefits:

An annual salary ranging from $105k - $123k
Eligibility for full-time benefits and funding for approved conferences.
