- Conduct telephone triage assessments for pediatric patients under the guidance of healthcare providers.
- Prioritize and respond to incoming patient messages and test results promptly and accurately.
- Provide reassurance, answer questions, and address concerns from pediatric patients and their families.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to determine the best clinical course of action for pediatric patients.
- Document symptoms, assessments, advice provided, and patient responses accurately and thoroughly.
- Manage prescription refills for pediatric patients per established protocols.
- Participate in care coordination activities to ensure continuity of care for pediatric patients.
- Deliver patient education on pediatric health topics, including preventive care, developmental milestones, and medication management.
- Support other healthcare team members and assist in orienting and training new staff members.
- Seek opportunities for professional development and continuous improvement in pediatric nursing practice.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license in Minnesota.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Pediatric nursing experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to apply pediatric nursing theory in practice.
- Knowledge of disease processes and normal growth and development across all age groups.
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening, clear verbal communication, and concise documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor with pediatric patients and their families.
- Critical clinical thinking skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, and coworkers.
- Flexibility to work at other clinic locations and provide coverage as required.
- Availability for evening and weekend hours to meet the needs of patients.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) eClinicalWorks practice management software is beneficial but not required.
- Monday, Thursday, and Friday - 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Wednesday - 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
- One Saturday a month - 8:30 am to 12:00 pm in Minnetonka
