    Job Description –
    HW&Co. is currently seeking a Senior Accountant for our Tax department in our Cleveland, OH offices. Senior Accountants are highly experienced within their area of specialization and report to Managers and Senior Managers. They prepare and review income tax returns for companies and individuals within the Tax department.
    Job Responsibilities –
    To support the Firm's mission and values by exhibiting the following behaviors:

    Become familiar with the Firm's policies and procedures
    Obtain a working knowledge of tax research techniques
    Obtain a working knowledge of Federal and State Tax laws and Tax Department practices and procedures
    Obtain a working knowledge of the preparation of corporate, fiduciary, individual, partnership, and other tax returns prepared by the Firm
    Understand and abide by the rules, regulations, and code of conduct of the AICPA

    Perform the following tax procedures:
    Prepare or review corporate, individual, and partnership returns
    Prepare complex tax calculations
    Maintain detailed work papers to support the tax provisions and tax returns
    Conduct tax research projects
    Assume responsibility for the completion of tax returns under the supervision of more experienced staff
    Assist in business plans and projections
    Perform other duties as assigned
    Job Qualifications –
    3-5 years of public accounting experience
    Bachelor's degree in accounting
    CPA eligible or CPA license
    Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy
    Experience with consolidated C-Corporations, Partnerships, S-Corporations, individual and/or multi-state tax returns (preferred)
    Expert in accounting software (CaseWare and/or SureLink is preferred) and Microsoft Office
    Great verbal and written communication skills
    Strong organizational skills and time management
    The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
    The ability to interact with clients and employees of all levels of the Firm

    Working Conditions –
    Hybrid and remote options are available
    Involves in-office and work in the field where tasks are performed concurrently
    Office locations in Woodmere, Willoughby, Westerville, Middleburg Heights, and Mansfield
    Overtime hours required (especially during the months of January through April)
