- Fill prescriptions accurately and efficiently, following all applicable laws and regulations.
- Prepare medications, including compounding when necessary, according to established protocols and under the supervision of veterinarians.
- Pull injectable medications, including controlled substances, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain inventory levels and assist with ordering medications and supplies as needed.
- Work collaboratively with pharmacy and hospital staff to ensure seamless communication and workflow.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients, answering questions and addressing concerns as needed.
- Assist with training and mentoring new pharmacy staff members as necessary.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, and unpleasant odors.
- Ability to always communicate professionally and effectively and maintain professionalism in emotionally charged / challenging situations.
- Ability to provide high quality customer service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

- Ability to lift, walk, bend, twist, reach, push and squat most of the workday.
- North Carolina Pharmacy Technician Credential is required.
- Previous experience working in a busy pharmacy, preferably in a veterinary setting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and documentation.
