- Assist in coordinating the Older Americans Act Title III funds as well as act as a division-wide resource on grant and contract management
- Provide oversight of contracts with and activities of the 7 Minnesota Area Agencies on Aging, including the hundreds of sub-contracts these area agencies have with local partners
- Coordinate with regional organizations (including oversight of contracts with local partners), other state agencies, and the federal government, especially pertaining to newly developed federal regulations for the OAA, to ensure effective grant management
- Serve in an consultant capacity for the division regarding grant management and assists with the division's contract management. This includes:
- Providing consultation and guidance to other staff members throughout the division by assisting in the development and administration of processes associated with grant management and ensuring these processes are compliant with federal, state, and agency requirements
- Lead workers and the position's supervisor in contract development, negotiations, and amendments by performing relevant administrative and preparatory work
- Serves in an expert capacity regarding grant and contract management
- Provide oversight and consultation to staff members throughout the division by:
- Developing and managing the processes associated with grant management
- Ensuring these processes are compliant with state and agency requirements
- Provide consultation regarding Requests for Proposals (RFPs), contracts and contract negotiations, the Contracts Integration System (CIS), as well as contract-related accounting, budgeting, reporting, and other functions of the Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) accounting system
- Financial management, financial analysis and budgeting policies and practices sufficient to prepare or direct preparation of, review and analyze grants budgets and internal fiscal documents
- Contract language, development, and legal

Job Summary
Grants Specialist Senior
Under limited supervision and a lead worker's direction, the Grants Specialist Senior will:
This position will also act as an expert resource on grant and contract management. Management of these grant programs requires this position to provide oversight and management of contracts with organizations and partners across Minnesota. Due to the nature of these grant programs, this position must also coordinate with tribal and local communities as well as other state agencies to ensure effective grant and contract management.
