- Master's degree (MA) with a minimum of three years of work experience in job development, internship program administration, student employment administration, career counseling or related area equivalent combination of training and experience.

- Develop, manage and evaluate the external and internal college internship programs and experiential learning experiences; maintains listing of current internship and experiential learning opportunities; establishes records of students placed and referral results; prepares reports and key assessment data regarding results and outcomes.
- Collaborate with administrators and faculty in a) identifying occupations and industries related to academic fields that are suitable for internship development, b) market internship program initiatives and, c) refer skill-ready candidates for available internship opportunities.
- Actively research and contact local companies and organizations to build networking and internship/mentoring programs. Establish new, and strengthen current, relationships with employers to cultivate jobs for internship opportunities; conduct employer site visits; develop program involving employer presentations and field visits. Act as a liaison with internship/experiential learning sites.
- Provide one-on-one appointments for students interested in internships; conduct pre-employment referral interview to assess qualifications based on education, experience, ability, aptitude and other criteria; provide instruction on work place expectations, etiquette and job keeping skills. Maintain continued communication and academic and personal support throughout internship experience.
- Act as a liaison with faculty and staff of participating departments to ensure academic requirements are met. Maintain communication with supporting departments.
- Manage the Illinois Cooperative Work Study Grant.
- Manage the College Central Network On-line Job Posting Site.
- Develop and conduct classroom presentations and workshops on internships, job search, resume writing and interviewing skills.
- Counsel students to identify and implement their career objectives integrating diverse challenges including personal, emotional and/or physical disability, and economic concerns. Refer out for professional assistance as required by individual circumstances.
- Provide leadership for the department in the absence of the Director.
- Maintains required training, licensure and/or certifications
- Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to applicable privacy laws
- Demonstrates sensitivity, understanding and respect of diverse populations within the workplace.
- Maintains an understanding of the work of colleagues to effectively provide backup and/or support for co-workers during times when the division is short-staffed or experiencing an increased volume of work.
