Description
**Driver Part Time**
Under the supervision of the Director of Nutrition Programs, the Driver supports the Kosher Meals On Wheels program and the JFCS Rides program.
In the Kosher Meals on Wheels (KMOW) program, the Driver is responsible for ensuring that meals are delivered to clients in a timely, safe and efficient manner. The JFCS meal program serves adults and seniors throughout the city of San Francisco, bringing meals Monday through Friday and groceries from the JFCS Food Bank on a weekly basis as needed. In the Rides program, the Driver is responsible for ensuring passengers are picked up and arrive at locations safely. Both programs support reduction of isolation and enhances activities of daily living for seniors.
The Driver understands and assists in meeting budget and service goals, understands the mission and objectives of Jewish Family and Childrens Services, works within the limitations of the Agencys resources, and performs all duties in compliance with agency standards.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
Practices safety measures and standard driving procedures at all
Complies with all JFCS policies and
Ensures the van is clean inside and out, and always well fueled. Reports any mechanical problems or damage to the van, even minor damage, immediately to the Rides coordinator or their Participates in the preventative maintenance schedule for JFCS vehicle.

Delivers hot meals to clients Monday through Friday.
Brings program supplies to kitchen as needed.
Implements delivery routes that maximize the drivers time.
Ensures timely delivery of meals to individuals.
Collaborates with other JFCS staff to ensure that client needs are met.
Accurately represents the program and the Agency to clients.
Provides daily feedback to the Director of Nutrition Programs regarding client status and satisfaction.
Provides assistance and support for JFCS programs as needed (food drives and food bank).
Participates in the preventative maintenance schedule for JFCS vehicles.

Escorts clients safely and comfortably to their
Recognizes potential scheduling difficulties that may occur during the day due to problems with doctors offices or clients lateness, and troubleshoots any problems so that client needs are met, consulting the JFCS office as
Reviews the daily schedule at least one day prior to identify any potential problems and works with the Rides coordinator or their designee to
Confirms all appointments with riders ahead of time, using down time in the schedule to make calls.
Plans daily routes and activities that efficiently uses the drivers time and ensures timely pick-up and delivery of
Accurately represents the program and the Agency to clients. Collaborates with other JFCS staff to ensure that client needs are met. Provides weekly or as needed feedback to the coordinator regarding client status and
**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
Current California drivers license.
Clean DMV record.
Strong ability to work independently and use sound judgment.
Ability to lift 30 pounds.
Ability to communicate well with seniors and establish rapport with clients.
Cooperative, efficient and friendly.
**Required Education and Experience**
Strong interest or background in working with seniors and adults with disabilities.
Interest in working in a social services setting.
**Compensation and Benefits**
This is an hourly, non-exempt, part-time position without benefits. Competitive compensation will depend on experience and proficiency level.
