    Description
    Outpatient Psychiatrist Locum Tenens Job in Los Angeles, California Child, Adolescent, and Adult Hybrid Coverage Details/Requirements:

    Child & adolescent and adult outpatient coverage starting ASAP x ongoing for 40 hours a week, ideally, for 100% clinical work.

    Prefer candidates who will provide all services onsite. If not, then will accept a hybrid schedule of 3 days/24 hours a week onsite and 2 days/16 hours a week tele health using

    Patient population:
    children & adolescents ages 4-18 and adults ages 18-70 or 75, but only a few geriatric patients.
    Prefer a psychiatrist who is double board certified in child & adolescent and in adult psychiatry. If not, next choice would be a board certified child psychiatrist who s comfortable treating adults.

    If not, then will consider a board certified adult psychiatrist who s comfortable/experienced treating children and adolescents ages 4 and up.

    50-75% of the patient population experiences co-occurring disorders, i.e. mental health plus substance use disorders.

    For children & adolescents, client typically allows 1 to 1.5 hours for initial evaluations and 30-45 minutes for medication follow ups.

    For adults, client typically allows 45 minutes to one hour for initial evaluations and 20-30 minutes for medication follow ups.


    Hours:
    Monday through Friday, 8A-5P.
    No call.
    Electronic health record, so you must be computer savvy.

    Takes approximately two weeks for credentialing, including a live scan and a TB test (TB test within the past 12 months will be accepted).

    Prefer 6-month minimum assignments.

    Primarily interested first in candidates who will be a good fit with their staff and their routine, and if a doctor has some medical director administrative experience that would be a plus.


    Reason for the need:
    using locum tenens until they recruit/hire a permanent full time Psychiatrist who could also be their medical director. Their medical director recently resigned and they re recruiting for a permanent medical director to replace her.

    May consider transitioning the locum tenens doctor to a permanent position after at least 3 months of full-time locum tenens coverage.
