    US Remote / Charlotte, NC / Salt Lake City, UT / San Francisco, CATechnology – Information Technology /Full-time /RemoteThe Developer Productivity Team at Varo Bank is small but is growing rapidly.

    The team is responsible for building and maintaining tooling solutions that power Varo's engineering teams to achieve our goal to disrupt the banking industry and build products that help improve the financial wellbeing of our customers.

    What you'll be doingPartner with the engineering team to help design, build and evolve the toolset engineers use to develop and maintain banking productsWork projects from ideation to creation with a customer-first mindsetParticipate in code reviews to main code quality and distribute knowledgeWork on projects from ideation to deliveryResearch industry best practices and share that knowledge with engineering teamsBe involved in the technical strategy and with a drive to improve products, infrastructure, processes, or organizationsWrite well-designed, well-tested, readable and maintainable codeYou'll bring the following required skills and experiences7+ years of industry experience in software development leading large and strategic high-impact areas in businessTechnical leadership and ownership in bringing multiple engineering functions to productionExperience with scalable, distributed systems with a test-first approachDeep understanding of microservices and event-driven architecturesExperience in strong consistency in a distributed environment, transactional databases, and caching systemsDeep understanding of software security practicesExperience with testing methodologies including contract testing and testing in vendor environmentsTechnologies we useKotlin, Java, Spring BootAWS - EKS, S3, SNS, SQS, KMSPostgreSQL, Kafka, Airflow, Kubernetes, IstioGitlab, Grafana, Loki$180,000 - $200,000 a yearFor cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all US-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies.

    Per applicable law, the salary range for this role is $180,000 - $200,000.

    Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors as well as candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the identified range.
