    A leading engineering firm based in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, CA is seeking a talented Staff Accountant to join their dynamic team.

    Position Overview: Looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to support the finance department. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
    • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Assist in month-end and year-end close procedures, including preparation of journal entries and financial statements.
    • Analyze financial data and trends to identify variances, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
    • Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting-related issues and provide financial insights and support as needed.
    • Support external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and assistance as required.
    • Maintain and update accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
    • Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.

      • Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years of general accounting experience.
    • Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting standards.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience in the engineering or construction industry is a plus.
    • CPA certification or progress towards CPA preferred, but not required.
