    Description

    The Cyber Innovation, Analytics & Operations Department within the Communications, Information and Navigation Office (CINO) at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) is looking for a driven and experienced Machine Learning Research and Development Engineer to provide top-notch solutions to clients. In this role, you will mainly work to build, research and implement machine learning algorithms and frameworks to tackle multi-faceted sponsor issues.

    • Design and create various machine learning systems, models, and schemes
    • Explore state-of-the-art prototype machine learning models for collection and data modeling within the sponsor specific domains
    • Provide insights to sponsor data using visualize data
    • Create and deliver technical reports and briefings
    • Perform statistical analysis in order to detect pattern of life and anomaly detection
    • Develop prototypes of high-quality software integrated into a variety of research and pre-production software systems

    This is a technical position and you will work with other team members, stakeholders and sponsors. A significant amount of your time will be spent working in a confidential setting at Annapolis Junction, MD, State College, PA or Reston, VA. Occasional visits to sponsor sites may be needed. This position is also open to transitioning military members through the DoD SkillBridge program.

    The job salary range may be adjusted for location.

    • Bachelors degree in a Science or Engineering field
    • Data science and algorithmic development experience
    • Professional experience developing and implementing machine learning models
    • Familiarity with data science and Machine Learning languages like Python
    • Preferably, familiar statistics, data structures, and linear algebra
    • Preferably, experience in Exploratory data analysis, visualization
    • Experience in multiple Machine Learning tools like Pandas, PyTorch/TensorFlow, NumPy, MatPlotLib and SQL, FastAPI
    • Experience in software development tools like Git, Docker, Kubernetes, SSH
    • Active TS/SCI Clearance
