    Description

    ABOUT MATTOCK CAPITAL
    Mattock Capital is a Richmond, VA-based single-family office.

    We invest in a broad array of asset classes with the singular focus of compounding capital at high risk-adjusted rates, tax-efficiently over the long term.

    The entire firm is team-oriented—the organization is relatively flat, and pride is taken in the successful completion of projects whether they're big or small.


    THE ROLE
    While you will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will have the opportunity to touch every aspect of the organization


    Your responsibilities include:
    Lead accounting efforts for operating company, investment entities, trusts and foundations
    You'll be responsible for tracking all cash and investment activity for all entities
    Tracking all transactions in QuickBooks
    Coordinating with outside service providers (audit, tax, etc.) and providing all necessary documents
    Help lead the accounts payable and vendor management process
    Strategic Thinking
    This person will be instrumental in helping build the accounting and operations capabilities of the firm
    Improving and upgrading current accounting processes and systems will be critical

    .


    QUALIFICATIONS
    CPA is strongly preferred
    5+ years of public or private accounting experience
    An investment accounting background and knowledge of QuickBooks or an alternative accounting platform is strongly preferred
    Detail-oriented, strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving capabilities
    Demonstrated ability to execute quickly, work under pressure and handle time sensitive items
    Self-starter—take a proactive approach to problem-solving and anticipate how to be helpful
    Trustworthy and ability to maintain confidentiality

    Note:
    This is an in-person position.

    If you want to work from home or another location when convenient—no problem, but building a successful culture is best done face-to-face.
