Nature of Work
The purpose of this job is to manage staff and information to ensure that the City's public water and sewer utilities and private utility services are designed appropriately to serve the needs of the customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job.
Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.Communicates information regarding City utilities and services to City staff, engineers, consultants, developers, contractors, and customers to ensure adherence to standards and codes
Performs and coordinates the review of public utility extensions or improvements to water, sanitary sewer, or storm sewer systems. Provides guidance to staff regarding private connection issues
Provides assistance with troubleshooting a variety of problems and issues
Directs, schedules, manages, oversees, and evaluates project engineers and engineering assistants
Participates in Rate Study data gathering, calculations, and reporting
Evaluates and provides recommendations and guidance on capital improvement projects
Participates in asset management and evaluation of condition and capacity of water and sewer utilities.
Assists the Assistant Manager for Utility Engineering and Asset Planning in prioritizing projects for capital replacement
Reviews and evaluates utility records
Assists the
