    Organisational context

    The Women's Social Model of Health Division is a newly formed Division that reinforces the Women's commitment to the social determinants of health. Whilst all services at the Women's ensure health equity for all women, the Social Model of Health Division brings together our multidisciplinary services and programs that specialise in providing care to women facing challenges that may adversely affect their health.

    About Centre Against Sexual Assault (CASA) House and Sexual Assault Crisis Line (SACL)

    CASA House provides 24 hour services to victim/survivors of sexual assault, including immediate crisis care, counselling, support and advocacy, after hour's crisis response, support groups and support for family members and friends. CASA House also provides secondary consultation, education and training as well as research and advocacy into public policy.

    SACL provides a state-wide after-hours telephone crisis service for victims/survivors of sexual assault in Victoria, providing immediate crisis care to victims/survivors of recent sexual assault, telephone crisis counselling support, advocacy, information and referral. SACL also provides support and information for family and friends, and secondary consultation and debriefing to CASA counsellors/advocates and other professionals.

    About the role

    This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to join the Social Model of Health Division and step into this newly created role. You will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction and operational oversight of the CASA and SACL teams. This role will be pivotal in ensuring that both services continue to meet the needs of victim survivors and that each service continues to be enhanced. You will work in a collaborative partnership with the Director of the Social Model of Health, and work closely with the other managers in the Social Model of Health and connect with leaders across the maternity, women's health and neonatal services.

    A regular day will see you:

  • Provide strategic and clinical leadership for both services, identifying long and short term operational and strategic planning goals
  • Advocate to Government alongside the Director of the Social Model of Health
  • Provide support and leadership to direct reports, including performance appraisal, workload management and training and development
  • Contribute to the development of a trauma-informed care framework for the Women's
  • About you

    You will be someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. You'll enjoy working in a changing organisational environment, and developing a supportive and cohesive team culture.

    You'll bring with you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or other relevant health profession
  • Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or other relevant professional body
  • A minimum of 10 years' post-graduate experience in Social Work, or a relevant discipline
  • Previous experience in managing a complex department within a multi-disciplinary setting, including leading change
  • Demonstrated commitment to a women-centred approach to service provision, and knowledge of the impact of social factors on women's health
  • A commitment to working in a service that recognises the impacts of trauma and the social determinants of health.
