Duties and Responsibilities

Must follow and hold team(s) accountable for all safety policies and procedures in effect on the production floor

Understand Quality System requirements. Be able to add to and improve on manufacturing processes needed for ISO, OSHA, production, and customer requirements.

Must be active on the production floor, troubleshooting manufacturing processes to provide solution, performing audits on paperwork, reviewing and revising procedures, and managing necessary training

Plans and communicates identified daily objectives to ensure Production goals are met

Ensure all tooling modifications are properly identified and completed

Work with Materials Manager to manage extrusion inventory

Ensures production orders are completed on time and that required shop floor information and equipment (work instructions, drawings, tooling) is available to meet schedule

Provide consistent and accurate updates to the Buyer/Planner/Scheduler, Engineering Manager, and Plant Manager on issues like productivity, scheduling, or any issue that requires assistance

Work with Plant Manager to manage departmental budget expectations and meet established EBITDA goals

Will be held accountable on critical deadlines, quality issues, scrap rates, efficiencies, and all other significant information in a verbal or written format

Communicates daily with operators and engineers, from both extrusion and catheter areas

Ensure that technicians properly train and motivate their employees

Maintain a clean and organized plant and 5S program

Work as a leader and member of a team, not only in the extrusion department, but in the company, while promoting an environment of positive teamwork through actions and communication

Input all engineering and extrusion department data into IQMS accurately and efficiently

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Key Skills and Attributes

Energetic, motivated and possess strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills

5 years minimum experience working in a manufacturing industry, extrusion experience preferred

Proficient with computer software, including MS Office, IQMS and Paycom payroll system

Familiar with P&L reports, or similar business reporting tools
