The LAGetSi is the Berlin supervisory authority for occupational safety and a regulatory and monitoring authority for the technical safety of facilities, products, chemicals, and radiation.


We monitor that every employer organizes work for their employees in a way that allows them to finish their work in the company and on construction sites as safely and healthily as they started.

To do this, we monitor occupational safety organization, ergonomics, equipment, handling of hazardous substances, working hours, maternity protection, psychological stress, and much more.


We approve and monitor power plants and technical facilities such as elevators, we monitor the safety and energy efficiency of many consumer products, we monitor the handling of chemicals and explosives, we control radiation protection in the workplace and for patients, as well as activities with biological substances in laboratories, and contribute to internal security.
