    Job Description Summary

    The Staff Accountant performs a variety of accounting duties according to established policies and procedures. The Staff Accountant will assist the Accounting Manager in all duties required by department.

    Job Description

    Key Job Functions

    Billing of Master Accounts
    Printout of group turnovers and make the files for future groups
    Assign Posting Master and Account Receivable numbers in Opera for future groups
    Review and checkout Posting Masters daily.
    Handle phone inquiries from internal staff as well as from transient guests
    Bill special accounts using Excel
    Daily review & reconcile Posting Master (Accounts, e.g. Banquets, Outlets Research, etc.)
    Attend resume and pre-convention meetings as needed
    Review group contracts prior to arrival and efficiently make notes in PMS or POS system
    Review open folios daily.
    Deliver Passionate & Engaging Service to our Guests
    You will be passionate and truly engaged in taking care of our guests, recognizing individual guests, and anticipating their unique needs in order to exceed their expectations

    Greet or welcome everyone, warmly with a smile
    Use eye and ear contact and guest's name
    Establish/anticipate needs
    Solve and own all requests/complaints

    Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

    The employee is expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description.

    Qualifications And Skills


    A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support his/her competency.

    Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experience
    Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time for training and safety purposes, and when interacting with guests and associates
    Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor
    Ability to satisfactorily operate PC computers; familiarity with Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel), OPERA and Delphi (FDC) and/or willingness to learn new software systems
    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages
    Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
    Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
    Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations
    Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra
    Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

    Education And/or Experience

    Minimum high school diploma with some college or business school courses credits in accounting. College degree is preferred. Strong organizational skills and business clerical experience is required.
