    Default job background
    Description
The Manger of Alumni Relations is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to
cultivate relationships with Trevor alumni and engage them in the life of the school. This role is
critical in fostering a sense of community and loyalty among a diverse group of alumni, while
also leveraging their support and involvement to benefit the organization. The Manager of
Alumni Relations reports to the Director of Development and collaborates with colleagues on a
range of outreach, programming, and fundraising projects, as well as with numerous departments
    across the school.

    Manager of Alumni Relations Responsibilities

    • Manage and staff the Alumni Council, a volunteer committee of alumni constituents.
Organize their meetings (approximately 3-4 per academic year), facilitate their outreach,
and ensure successful implementation of tactics defined to advance their mission and
    achieve their goals.

    • In partnership with the Director of Development, develop a detailed, metrics-oriented
comprehensive alumni relations program that effectively cultivates relationships with
alumni and engages them in the life of the school.

alumni engagement initiatives into broader institutional goals and campaigns.

    • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date alumni database utilizing Raiser's Edge (RE),
ensuring that contact information, employment details, and other relevant data are
properly recorded. Track all alumni contact in donor database. Take a leading role in
customizing RE for maximum effectiveness for the alumni program. Continuously
research and track our alumni and provide information to Development as needed.

    • Conduct prospect research on alumni of interest to support fundraising pipelines and
    cultivation events.

    • Take responsibility to identify and write news stories, alumni profiles, and select photo
galleries for the website, alumni newsletter, and bi-annual Trevor Magazine. Collect, edit,
and format alumni Class Notes, which includes securing permissions, database input, and
    fact checking.

    • Create and distribute regular communications via social media (Instagram, Facebook, and
LinkedIn) and other formats to keep alumni informed about news, events, and
    opportunities related to the school.

    • In partnership with the Trevor Fund Director, develop strategies to solicit alumni
financial contributions, and co-manage the "Senior Gift" of graduating classes. Help
recruit and manage Senior Class Representatives to support fundraising among
    graduating students.

    • Coordinate and support regional alumni groups or affinity groups, providing leadership
and guidance to ensure their activities align with the organization's mission and goals.

    • Build and manage programs that strengthen the student-alumni continuum to educate
students about alumni benefits and the importance of philanthropy, and to increase
students' likelihood of becoming supportive alumni in the future.

    • Strengthen the Trevor Buddy Network
    • Help the College Office by linking current seniors to young alumni at colleges
and universities our graduating class may be exploring.

    • Reach out to alumni community for potential Bridge (internships or research for
12th graders) partnerships, volunteering, and mentoring opportunities.

    • Collaborate with academic departments and other campus units to facilitate alumni
involvement in student mentorship programs, signature academic programs, guest
speaking opportunities, and career development initiatives.

    • Track and evaluate the success of alumni engagement efforts through metrics such as
event attendance, participation rates, views (comments/likes), and alumni feedback.

    • Manage the alumni relations budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to support
    engagement activities and initiatives.

    • Maintain the school archive and familiarize constituents with the history of our school.
    • Undertake other relevant duties as requested.

multiple events and initiatives simultaneously within given timelines and budgets.

    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging
and compelling content for various communication channels, including social media
    platforms, email, and long-form articles.

    • Proficient in utilizing CRM systems, databases, and other relevant software to manage
and analyze alumni data and engagement metrics, preferably Raiser's Edge or NXT.

    • Knowledge of fundraising principles and strategies, with the ability to effectively engage
alumni in philanthropic activities and campaigns.

    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and
implement strategic plans and adapt to changing circumstances.
