    Engineer

    LQDX [] pioneers advanced materials for AI and high-performance computing, enabling advanced interconnect for semiconductor packaging and heterogeneous integration.

    Founded in collaboration with the Stanford Research Institute (SRI), the company, based in Santa Clara California, has developed a suite of cutting-edge chemistries and process technologies to revolutionize chip interconnect architecture.

    As the demand for computing power skyrockets, new tools are needed in the semiconductor packaging and Ultra High-Density Interconnect (UHDI) toolbox.

    At the heart of LQDX' portfolio lies

    LMIx

    - or Liquid Metal Ink technology - a novel metallization chemistry suite that enables the most advanced interconnects used as redistribution lines (RDLs) for chiplet integration and 3D die stacking using through-silicon-vias (TSVs) These advanced features, previously exclusive to silicon, are essential to meet the exponential growth demand in signal density required by advanced chips, chiplets and heterogeneous integration. As an alternative to highly expensive wafer processing which uses Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) technology, LMIxTM is a simple PVD-in-a
    • BottleTM substitute that integrates seamlessly into existing infrastructure.


    To fund our next stage of growth, the company has concluded a combined equity and initial government funding round of $10M USD, and is hiring a critical hand-on engineering role – Senior Product Development Engineer – to further develop our technology portfolio and integrate it into key customer programs.


    We are searching for an exceptional and experienced candidate for the position – a person who is at heart passionately entrepreneurial and looking for an ownership role in a dynamic new company.

    In this position, you'll play a crucial role in developing our technology development as well as customer program management.

    You'll be part of a dynamic new company that is not only catalyzing the growth of AI semiconductor, it's also disrupting the industry.

    That is a lot of fun, but not for the faint of heart, or for the Teamsineers out there.

    The position will be based at our headquarters and R&D lab in Santa Clara, CA, however there will be a lot of hybrid virtual management as our fab partners and customers are globally based.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    development and integration of metal ink chemistries into semiconductor packaging and MEMS-scale wafer processing.
    coordinate, and perform developmental tests. Support all aspect of product development, scale-up and transfer of products and processes to customers and partners.
    and qualify new materials and processes via DOE.
    process flows with in-depth analysis of process variables to develop licenseable Plans of Record for customer adoption.
    collaboration with process engineering, R&D and commercial teams.
    presentations for internal reviews and for external stakeholders.
    stage gate planning and reviews, and drive progress.
    in the establishment of timeline and budgets and holding partners and vendors accountable.
    closely with the executive management teams to manage key accounts.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Mindset:

    more important than education or company history, you will need to have a proven ability to demonstrate that you have an ownership mindset with the goal of a large stock-based upside.


    Education:
    Advanced technical degree in engineering, material science, semiconductor physics or a related field.

    Knowledge:

    strong foundation in semiconductor and advanced packaging processing; experience in IC-substrate/UHDI PCB development, metallization processes used in advanced packaging preferred.


    Development knowledge:
    understanding of process development, control, characterization, failure analysis, technology transfer, industry best practices.

    Vision:

    ability to align engineering and operational activities within company's strategic goals, and to provide strategic direction on customer acquisition, IP and critical roadmap issues.


    Skills:
    strong organizational leadership abilities and collaborative capabilities
    excellent communication & collaboration skills; effective communication with senior leadership, engineers, customers and partners.

    Adaptability:
    handling unforeseen challenges and adapting to changing circumstances is a day-to-day reality in a start-up. Your ability and passion in entrepreneurial pivoting is a key attribute.

    Solving:
    demonstrated strategic problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment.

    Citizenship:
    to participate in and manage governmental/CHIPS programs.

    Hybrid Management :
    Considerable virtual management of a global partner/supply chain network

    Travel:

    25% (required to partner locations in North America, Asia and Europe).
