Job Description

The Administrative Support Specialist provides support for research projects and/or educational outreach events administered by the Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology (ICAT) and its affiliated research centers. This position works closely with ICAT and center faculty and staff in the area of administrative support, event implementation, logistics communication, and outreach. They will coordinate meetings, travel, and site visits/field trips. Collaboration with various stakeholders is an important part of this role. The Administrative Support Specialist should have strong communication skills and capacity to work both within a team and independently. It is expected that this position will work 10-20 hours per week on average. Occasional overnight regional travel may be required. Occasional evening and weekend hours may also be required.

Key responsibilities for this position include:
- event/program coordination
- implementation of events/programs

Required Qualifications

Experience providing administrative support in an office or educational environment
- Experience supporting event planning activities such as meetings and travel
- Experience with a variety of software including word processing, calendar software, video conference software, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals, including students of all ages, faculty, administrators, and external constituents
- Must be adept at handling on-the-spot changes and emergencies in a professional and effective manner
