- Strategically support all academic activities for the EWMBA Program, including course scheduling, faculty engagement, and student advisement.
- Analyze enrollment data to determine student scheduling needs for progression to graduation, while also monitoring class and student interest to optimize resource allocation.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director in the curricular planning process to ensure that semester schedules match needed student degree progress, avoid scheduling conflicts, and comply with campus-wide policies, including assisting in faculty recommendation for courses.
- Manage course enrollment via Haas Online Registration (OLR) and Campus Solutions, overseeing Bidding and Add/Drop processes for all semesters.
- Coordinate course enrollment for Haas Full-Time MBA, Executive MBA, UC Berkeley partner programs, exchange students, and international opportunities (GNAM, MOU agreements, etc.)
- Collect and analyze enrollment data to inform recommendations to the Executive Director.
- Oversee the EW Academics Team of Associate Directors, providing guidance on student advising and course selection from orientation to graduation. Support Associate Directors with complex cases, consulting the Executive Director as necessary.
- Partner with the Haas Registrar to maintain accurate student records in CalCentral, Haas Online Registration System, and Student Data Management System. Conduct regular unit audits to ensure policy compliance and progress towards graduation requirements.
- Identify students on Academic Probation and assist Associate Directors in providing necessary resources for them to regain good academic standing and fulfill degree requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive understanding of University and School policies, advising on formulation and implementation.
- Advise Executive Director on EWMBA program policy formulation, identifying areas needing clarification and recommending adaptations or new policies.
- Provide guidance to faculty, staff, and students on new or changed policies, facilitating implementation.
- Manage the student "Exception Request" process for the academics team, seeking support from the Executive Director when necessary.
- Utilizes exceptional written communication and interpersonal skills to serve as the primary contact for MBA program inquiries, including updates, events, scheduling, and other important matters.
- Maintains relationships with the University's graduate division and other central campus units to address program requirements and provide assistance.
- Liaises with various school and campus departments and service providers, facilitating effective communication and collaboration, including the Haas Registrar, Career Management Group, Admissions, Alumni Relations, Facilities, Media Services, and Library.
- Advises and mentors EW student academic committees, including Academic Cohort Representatives and EWMBA VPs of Academics.
- Supervises and supports employee performance, including hiring, training, and evaluation, while recommending necessary actions such as corrective measures, promotions, hiring, or separations.
- Facilitates professional development opportunities for team members.
- Manages departmental budget, conducting regular financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting to the Executive Director for annual budget cycle requests.
- Oversees key operational aspects of the EW program's academic experience.
- Embraces the principle of being a "student always" by engaging in opportunities for training, workshops, seminars, continuing education pertinent to the position, or at the suggestion of the supervisor.
- Actively contributes to a team environment that fosters and promotes a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) within the unit and at Haas.
- Engages in ongoing education to promote diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging by completing University sponsored certifications & training sessions (Ie:MEP Workshop, Implicit Bias Certification, LinkedIn Learning workshops, and other workshops & seminars offered by the University or Haas, as they are made available) or by engaging in external seminars & resources related to DEIB.

The Evening & Weekend MBA Program Director of Academics holds a pivotal role at the Haas School of Business, overseeing a diverse array of responsibilities aimed at facilitating students' academic journey. Central to this role is strategic curricular planning, personalized academic advising, and fostering partnerships with both on-campus and off-campus stakeholders. Leading the EW Academics Team, they ensure MBA students receive unparalleled support in navigating course selection, monitoring degree progress, and accessing resources within UC Berkeley and Haas.

Salary & Benefits
This is a 100% full-time (40 hrs a week) exempt career position, which is paid monthly and eligible for UC Benefits.

Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $110, $120,000.00.
