About Sophie Oswin:
I am a licensed professional counselor, national certified counselor, and a board-certified telemental health practitioner in private practice in Atlanta, Georgia. I received my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Walden University in February 2023. My areas of teaching and supervision expertise is in law and ethics, theories and techniques, trauma counseling, and quantitative research.
Experience
My teaching experience is as follows: I earned my PhD in counselor education and supervision, during which I was a TA for several Law and Ethics courses during my internship. I have also guest lectured and done several professional presentations on psychedelic assisted psychotherapy and ketamine assisted psychotherapy at ACA, LPCA in Georgia, and ACES conferences. I have also done 60 minute educational presentations and poster presentations on methods for caring for clients in a mental health crisis.
My clinical experience is as follows: I am an LPC in private practice for the last 2.5 years. I work with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, and relationship problems. Previous to this, I worked in a 24/7 crisis stabilization unit in California for 2.5 years. I have had clinical experience working at the University of Pittsburgh Eating Disorders clinic for 1 year, and also experience working at Trinity East Medical Clinic in Ohio treating clients struggling with substance use disorders.
