Sophie Soward

Passionate former undergraduate researcher (2+years) and current district trainer pursuing opportunities in the food science industry. 

I worked in a scientific research laboratory for over two years while earning my degree from CSU. In this role, I learned various scientific techniques, ranging from basic skills such as pipetting and media production to nucleic acid extraction and purification. The research I conducted required extreme patience and attention to detail: two qualities that would make me an excellent choice for this internship. Additionally, managing experiments while attending school required precise time management skills, which I believe to be a necessary skill for any scientist to possess. I am currently employed at Ziggi’s Coffee, and after being a barista for less than a year I was promoted to district trainer. I have had the opportunity to learn the art of coffee-making and train others in this skill while ensuring high quality products, maintaining an efficient teamwork setting, and providing excellent customer service. Through this role I’ve demonstrated my ability to lead a team and master new skills quickly. I hope that you find that this combination of skills would make me a valuable addition to your team.

I earned my High School Diploma from Halstead High School in 2016 and graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Colorado State University with Honors in 2021.
