Duties:


Oversees the creation, dissemination, research, storage, and disposition of OCSIS Supervision Case Files in an Electronic Data Records Management System.

Responsible for sealing, setting aside, and expunging OCSIS records as ordered by the D.C. Superior Court.

The Records and Information Management Specialists are expected to ensure customers, both internal and external, receive services as defined by the functions and responsibilities of the unit
and Branch to ensure effective service delivery.

  • All Federal employees are required to have Federal salary payments directly deposited into a financial institution of their choosing.
  • This is not a virtual or remote position; you must live within or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance of the duty location which is Washington D.C. (District of Columbia).

Qualifications:


You may qualify at the GS07 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualification requirements**:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service;
Examples of specialized experience at the GS-05 level include assisting with the following: Ensuring records are maintained, disposed of, protected, disseminated, and retrieved within established guidelines; providing assistance, evaluation and inspections for agency records management programs; monitoring an electronic data system to record suspense's and provide notification of impending deadlines; establishing and managing both physical and electronic records and records filing systems in compliance with Federal records retention schedules; purging unused or non-record files eligible for disposal, archives, or retirement; conducting routine file searches to locate and distribute requested documents or information; establishing file indexes or inventories to facilitate the availability of stored information

OR
B.

One full year of graduate level education or have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with an accomplishing Superior Academic Achievement (Grade point average of a 2.95 or higher on a 4.0 scale or class standing in the upper third of the graduating class or major subdivision) or membership in a national scholastic honor society may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement.


Note:

Must provide copies of transcripts and supporting documents to include honor society membership if inducted.

OR
C. A combination of education and experience as listed above.

You may qualify at the GS-9 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualification requirements:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service.


Examples of specialized experience at the GS-7 level include the following: ensuring compliance with policies and retention schedules for records management, maintaining paper files and electronic record systems; and providing guidance on the storage and dispositioning of records.


OR
B. Two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education
or Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree, may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement (transcripts required)
OR
C. A combination of education and experience as listed above.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
