    Description

    Job Description and Duties

    Working closely with a Senior Engineer in the Water Resources department, the Student Assistant (Engineering and Architectural Sciences) in the Floodplain Assistance Unit will support engineers and technicians on various projects and reports. Strong communication skills and good judgment are a must. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, cooperative, and have a consistent attendance record. Interaction with staff, the public, and other agencies should always be courteous and professional.

    Special Requirements

    All applicants for Student Assistant positions must meet the following department eligibility requirements:

    • Enrolled in nine (9) semester/eight (8) per quarter units for undergraduate students or six (6) semester/four (4) quarter units for graduate students.
    • Achieved a 2.0 grand point average in the most recently completed academic term.
    • Declared a major related to the duties of the advertised position and enrolled in coursework required for that major.
