    Description
    The Village is geographically located in south-central Dane County with a population of 11,179 as of the 2020 Census.

    The Village is located approximately 7 miles from the City of Madison, which offers quick and easy access to all the amenities the metropolitan area has to offer.

    The Village has experienced significant growth over the past several decades, including a nearly 40% increase in the last twenty years.

    Position Summary


    The Village of Oregon is currently accepting applications for the part-time (36 hours) per week position of Utility Accounting Assistant.

    Responsibilities will include the ability to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, billing, customer service, and administrative support tasks and duties for the Village's Finance Department primarily in support of the Village's water and sewer utilities.

    Salary Information

    The hourly wage range for this position is $ $25.25 per hour depending on experience.

    The Village offers a generous full-benefit package that includes family health insurance, vacation, annual floating holidays, 10 paid holidays, and the Wisconsin Retirement System.

    Job Details

    General office hours are Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., but working 36 hours per week there will be some flexibility.

    The employee is expected to work at Village Hall regularly within normal work hours. The position may rarely need to be available in the evenings and weekends for job-related meetings, programs, and events. Infrequent travel within the Village to other Village facilities and departments. Infrequent travel out of the Village to other communities in the county or state to conduct professional networking/development.

    Qualifications


    • High School Diploma or GED, post-secondary course work completed, or one to two years' experience related to bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field, one to two years of customer service experience, and
    • A valid Wisconsin Driver's License required.
