The
CDL Driver - Concrete is responsible for driving commercial vehicles equipped to transport a variety of materials from the job site to the yard as well as assists the crew.

Essential Functions:


  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. _

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Safely operate truck in accordance with all applicable Federal, state, and company regulations.
  • Efficiently load and deliver perishable product to job sites striving to provide quality and good customer service.
  • Follow procedures to ensure truck is safe to operate. When not performing driving duties assist with plant maintenance, cleanup and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Complete required pre and post trip inspections reporting necessary maintenance as required.
  • Operate truck to receive load, evaluate slump and drive to job site. Safely maneuver truck on job site, attach chutes to discharge material, clean truck to minimize concrete buildup.
  • Complete all forms, tickets and required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Keep inside and outside of truck clean.
  • Communicate with Foreman, maintenance and plant management to facilitate the flow of information required to provide good customer service.
  • Concrete industry knowledge or related industry a plus.

Success Factors:


  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
  • Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
  • Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
  • Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with coworkers
  • Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drugfree workplace policy
  • English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
  • Willingness and ability to learn additional skills

Experience and Education:


  • One (1+) plus years experience working in construction.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis.
  • Possession of a valid State Driver's License is required
  • Class A or B Required

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:


  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver's License is required within two weeks of employment.
